Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli became the highest run getter in the Indian Premier League history after he surpassed Suresh Raina to achieve the feat on Friday in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. The match which took place at Bangalore’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium concluded with an emphatic win by the visitors.
Virat Kohli aided RCB to post a mammoth score of 205/3 with a knock of 49-ball 84 but that was not enough as they suffered their fifth consecutive loss in five matches so far.Virat Kohli also surpassed Suresh Raina to become the second Indian batsman to bag 8000 runs in T20 cricket.
The Indian cricket team skipper started his innings for RCB with 17 short of the 8000-run mark and reached the landmark in the 10th ball of the innings. In the IPL, he now has 5110 as compared to 5, 086 runs of Raina. Despite becoming the highest run scorer of the tournament, Kohli was left disappointed after the match and questioned the bowling performance.
