Coronavirus in India – Odisha CM announces Rs 2,200 Cr. package for weaker sections

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced Rs 2,200 Cr. package for welfare of economically weaker sections of society of the state to deal with coronavirus related impact.

After it was found the third person who was tested positive for Covid-19 in Odisha on Thursday had no foreign travel history, fear of community transmission has been looming large in the state.

Notably, Odisha Health Department confirmed that the third coronavirus patient has no foreign travel history. This means that Odisha has entered Stage-3 of community transmission.

The man travelled to Delhi, NCR and Rewari in Haryana between March 7 & 10 with his family. Later, the patient and his family reached Bhubaneswar on IndiGo flight from Delhi on March 10. He was tested positive on March 26.
